About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Dobo (“we”, “us”). By creating a Dobo account, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
Your account
- You must be 13 or older to use Dobo.
- One account is for one person. Keep your Apple or Google sign-in secure.
- We may suspend an account that breaks these terms. We’ll tell you why unless the law stops us.
Dobo Pro
The first lesson is free. Dobo Pro is a subscription that unlocks every lesson after it.
- Price
- Shown in the app, in your local currency, before you pay.
- Billing
- Charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- Automatic renewal
- Your subscription renews at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Cancelling
- Cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app or your Dobo account does not cancel it. How to cancel
- Refunds
- Apple and Google handle refunds under their own policies.
The course
The lessons, audio, illustrations and the Dobo character belong to us or the people we license them from. You can use them for your own learning. Parts of the course are adapted from the Foreign Service Institute Amharic course, which is in the public domain.
We work hard to get every word right. If you spot a mistake, report it with the flag in any lesson.
Things you can’t do
- Copy, scrape, share or resell lessons or audio.
- Reverse engineer the app or try to get around Dobo Pro.
- Use Dobo to harass anyone, including our support team.
Changes to Dobo and these terms
We regularly add and improve lessons, and we may change or remove features. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
Disclaimers and liability

Ending your account
You can stop using Dobo and delete your account at any time. Remember to cancel Dobo Pro in your store settings as well.
Governing law
